Following the public whipping at the Wa-palace Naa’s last week, the young girl nabbed in a sex tape in Wa has fled her home.
Meira (not her real name) is believed to be living with some acquaintances after suffering injuries to her back and buttocks as a result of the 20 lashes she received at the palace.

Meira’s family claims they have tried multiple times, without success, to locate her and convince her to get medical attention.
Assembly member for the Sokpayiri Electoral Area Adams Abubakari, who speaks for the family, told TV3 the Social Welfare Department has been unable to locate the victim as a result as of the time of filing this report.
“I had a call from the Social Welfare Director who asked to come and see the victim and offer some support,” he recounted.
He said, “Meira’s mother revealed she did not know her whereabouts. I told her to try and reach her via phone so we arrange for the social welfare team’s visit.”
Mother of the victim, according to the assembly member, has not seen her daughter for days.
“I called the Social Welfare Office to inform them about the situation. We have not seen her for days.”
Adams Abubakari revealed the victim, who has now gone into hiding, has a mental health condition which she has been battling since childhood.
“As long as we get her, we would take her to the Social Welfare office for the medical care.”
He told the team, “Meira has been battling mental health related challenges for many many years.”
“She underwent some treatment for the condition when she was young.
“It was, however, not successful and since then she has occasions when she acts abnormally.”
Meanwhile, the traumatized Meira says she dreads returning home to the humiliation and name-calling.
“I don’t want to go home, I am safe in this hideout. I cannot also go back to the bus terminal where I used to work, because of stigma.”
The victim who is still suffering pain from last week’s flogging incident says she feels worse from additional pain from an operation she had in her abdomen at childbirth, a couple of years ago.
She wants a fresh lease of life, so she can get back on her feet, again after all of this is over.
The young lady in the Wa sex tape leak has opened up for the first time about the events leading to her public flogging at the hands of some men near the palace of the Wa-Naa.
According to Meira (not her real name), she was picked up by a number of young men from her home that day and dragged to the Wa-Na’s palace.
“When the young men came to me, they told me to go with them to the palace and while we were on our way, they kept beating me until we reached the palace,” she told TV3‘s Komla Adom, who travelled to find her.
She recounts how she was subjected to up to 20 lashes from the men at the forecourt of the palace.
“Among the crowd, I could hear people yell, flog her, flog her. There was nobody to my rescue.”
Adnan (not his real name), the young man who was also captured in the sex video with her, had been flogged and released before she got there.
Meira said: “I was severely injured with bruises and blisters on my back and buttocks after they flogged me 20 times.

The man, Adnan (not his real name) says he has been unable to keep his eye open for long without pain since the incident.
He told TV3’s Komla Adom who travelled to Wa, apart from the severe injury to his eye, he also suffered several bruises from the public flogging.
“Ever since the incident, one of my brothers with the social welfare department came here and took me to the hospital for general body screening, ” he noted.
According to Adnan, “I suffered blisters and bruises but the most severe one has to do with my right eye because one of the people flogging me that day stomped on my eye.”
He could barely sit upright in his seat as he recounted events after the flogging incident.
And even worse, he cannot walk out in the open without tearing in the affected bloodshot eye.
“When I go out, it becomes blurred and tears begin to stream down the eye. I even wear dark glasses but it doesn’t help much.”
He has been told to report to the eye specialist if he does not see improvement in the situation from the eye drops and medication he was given.
“I pray I don’t lose my sight completely. I leave everything in the hands of God. Maybe I would get some help to regain my sight.”

Residents in the area where he worked in a family beverage store say he has not been to the store since the incident a week ago.
A viral video captured some men publicly flogging Adnan and a young lady both of whom recorded a sex video, which found its way onto social media.
The flogging according to sources was on the orders of leadership of the palace, as an enforcement of a local law promulgated to ostensibly deal with increasing cases of indecency and publication of nude material by the youth in the Wa municipality.
